For convinience and efficiency requests can fall into different types.
This feature allows not only to categorize requests into several notional groups, but also to automatically assign a responsible person or a responsible group to process requests that fall into a particular category. For example, if you have a copy machine specialist it makes perfect sense to assign such a specialist to "Copy machine problem" requests by default.
You can edit the list of type values in Hardware Inspector or Hardware Inspector Client/Server. Choose Catalog > Service Desk > Request types.
